Range Settings
The Range settings page lets you decide how your bay screens behave and provides key information about your Toptracer system. From here, you can control access, choose your business model, and configure shared settings that apply across the range.
Pin for screen access
Each range has a randomly assigned 4-digit PIN code, shown on the Range settings page.
This PIN is used directly on the bay screens to access admin-level settings, such as:
- Changing a bay number
- Unlocking a screen if needed (for example, if TRMS is unavailable or not responding)
The PIN works whether your range is set to Locked or Unlocked mode.
Tip: Keep the PIN code for staff use only. Sharing it with guests may allow them to bypass TRMS controls.
Ball compensation
If your range has ball compensation enabled, this setting will be displayed directly below the PIN code. Ball compensation is configured by Toptracer during installation or setup and helps normalize shot data across different bays.
Hardware inventory
From here, you can download a full overview of your range hardware:
- Click Download Hardware Inventory to export a CSV file with detailed information about your Toptracer equipment.
- The file includes serial numbers and model numbers for screens, ball tracking cameras, and other hardware.
- This report is useful for asset management, accounting, and keeping track of leased equipment.
Screen settings
Under Screen settings, you’ll choose the business model for your range. This determines how bay screens behave and which sub-settings are available to you.
Unlocked bays
If you choose Unlocked bays, guests can start sessions directly from the bay screens — there is no need for assignments.
Sub-settings available:
- Session timeout – decide how sessions end and when bay screens return to their normal state:
- After inactivity (no shots detected)
- After total playtime
- Inactivity time to set your own limit.
- Blocked bays – select bays that require assignments even in Unlocked mode.
- Bays number – specify which bays you want to block.
- Assigning players is done from the Bays tab.
- Any active sessions when applying this setting are not interrupted; blocking applies after the session ends.
- These bays will now operate similar to Locked mode. The sub-settings for these bays are described below.
Locked bays
If you choose Locked bays, guests must speak to range staff, who will then create assignments for the bay.
Sub-settings available:
- Assignment lengths – define the time options presented when assigning a bay.
- Setup time – add extra time to every session length (e.g., to give guests time to get settled).
- Toptracer Range included in price – choose whether Toptracer use is automatically included or if it should be an optional add-on. If not included, staff must toggle Toptracer Range on in the assignment to unlock the bay screen.
- Extendable by guest – allow players to extend their own sessions from the bay screen. If turned off, the screen will direct them to reception for extensions.
Shared settings
Regardless of business model, these settings are always available:
- No activity timeout – set how long TRMS should wait after no shots have been detected before marking the bay as “No activity.”
Displays settings
This setting controls the language shown on Displays you’ve configured in TRMS.
- Changing the language here updates all content shown on those displays.
- See [Adding displays] and [Adding content] for more information.
Time settings
This setting controls how time is displayed in TRMS:
- 24-hour format
- 12-hour format (AM/PM)
