Toptracer screens come pre-installed with a variety of game modes designed for practice, skill-building, and entertainment. Whether guests want to analyze their swing, improve their consistency, or compete with friends, there’s a game mode for every player type.
This article gives an overview of all available game modes and their main features.
Practice & assessment

Warm Up
Target group: All players who want detailed feedback.
Multiplayer: Single player
Leaderboard: No
Warm Up is a training mode that provides detailed shot data for quick feedback and analysis. For logged in players, Warm Up sessions are only saved in the Last Session Recaps in the Toptracer Range app, not as a full session. If a player wants a structured way to log and track their stats, they should play My practice instead. Warm Up is closer to a launch monitor, giving shot data without setting a specific goal or practice structure.
Key features
- Parameter selection: Tap any data tile to highlight it and view more detailed information.
- Custom view: Toggle to display Ball Compensation and/or Bounce & Roll alongside your data.
- Field markers: White lines on the outfield represent 10 m/yd intervals, helping players visualize distances.

My Practice
Target group: Beginners and players working on their game.
Multiplayer: Single player
Leaderboard: No
My Practice is designed to help golfers understand their performance with each club and track improvement over time.
Key features
- Club-specific stats: Tracks detailed performance for woods, hybrids, irons, and wedges. Data is saved to the player's profile in Toptracer Range app if they scan the QR code and log in.
- Consistency score: After 5 shots with a club, the system calculates a consistency percentage, showing how reliably the player repeats the same shot.
- Visual comparison: Shots with different clubs are color-coded, making it easy to compare distances and dispersion on-screen.
- Editing shots: Poor shots can be removed by tapping the “X” next to the data or by going to Menu → All Shots.
- Custom clubs: Players can create and manage their own custom club set in the Toptracer Range app for more personalized tracking.

Toptracer30
Target group: Mid to low handicap golfers seeking data-driven improvement.
Multiplayer: Single player
Leaderboard: Yes, if the player has set gender in their player profile and avoids taking a mulligan during gameplay.
Toptracer30 is a skills assessment that places golfers in 30 on-course situations, 9 tee shots and 21 approach shots. Each shot is measured against a chosen reference handicap, giving players a realistic benchmark of their performance.
At the end of the round, players receive a performance handicap and game score, along with insights that highlight strengths and the top three areas to focus on for improvement. This makes T30 a valuable tool for tracking progress and targeting practice more effectively.

Toptracer12
Target group: Golfers training with a coach or practicing solo.
Multiplayer: Single player
Leaderboard: No
Toptracer12 is a quick skills test made up of 12 shots, 3 drives to a fairway target and 9 approach shots to a green. It provides a clear snapshot of your strengths and weaknesses, making it a great tool for self-improvement or working with a coach.
After completing the game, you’ll receive a Performance Handicap, shot dispersion maps, and key stats. Results are based on your chosen reference handicap and use the Strokes Gained method to compare your shots against an average player of similar ability. Separate performance handicaps are given for driving and approach play.
Virtual play

Virtual Golf
Target group: All players, social groups, and competitive golfers.
Multiplayer: 1–4 players
Leaderboard: Yes
Play iconic courses in Stroke play (1–4 players), Match play (2 players), or Scramble (2–4 players).
Notable features
- Short game mode: Instead of putting, players enter short game mode when they are within 35 yards of the pin. In this mode, players aim at a physical target on the outfield and play an approach shot. The closer a player is to the pin in the virtual game, the larger the scoring circle around the target. A player’s final number of strokes for the hole is determined by how close the ball finishes to the physical target. Bounce and roll are not included in short game mode.
Leaderboards
- Only gross scores are counted; handicaps are not included.
- To appear on leaderboards, players must play a full front 9, back 9, or 18 holes. Custom hole selections do not count.
