Navigating the dashboard
The Dashboard (Range Analytics) helps you understand how your range is performing by showing activity and usage data over time. It includes filters, quick insights, and detailed visualizations of play from both monitors (bay screens) and mobile devices.
Date filter
- Found in the top left corner of the Dashboard.
- Default is the last 30 days, but you can pick several different pre-set intervals in the dropdown.
- To set a custom date range, adjust the start and end date by either typing or clicking on the calendar icon to select a date.
Data sources
- Monitor – Data goes back to when Toptracer was first installed at your range.
- Mobile – Data collection depends on app version:
- Version 3.25.1 or newer: sessions and game data included
- Older versions: only shot data available
- If your range has both, a Datasource filter appears (top right), allowing you to view data from monitor, mobile, or both.
Quick indicators
Shows four key metrics:
- Total shots – all shots traced on the range by Toptracer Range tracking technology.
- Number of sessions – counts every session started.
- Average session length – counts every session regardless of length, rounded to the nearest integer.
- Usage rate – calculated as the total shots traced in a game mode divided by the total shots traced on the range.
Each indicator displays:
- Large number = current data for the selected filters
- Smaller number = comparison with the previous period (e.g., last 30 days compared with the 30 days before that)
Comparison icon:
- By default, TRMS compares to the previous period (e.g., last 30 days vs. the 30 days before).
- Clicking the comparison icon switches the view to compare with the same period last year.
Game modes
Ranks games based on the selected metric:
- Total shots – all shots traced on the range for played game mode.
- Pace – average shots per hour spent in a game mode.
- Time spent – total time spent in each game mode.
Hovering over a game shows its name and exact numbers. Games not played in the selected period will not appear.
Peak activity
Shows the busiest and quietest times at the range.
- Based on average shots by weekday and hour
- Darker colors = higher activity
- Hover to see exact averages
Options:
- Contrast mode – adjusts colors for greater clarity
- Intervals – switch from 1 hour to 2, 4, or 24 hours with the slider
Bay activity
Displays where shots are being hit across your bays.
- Hover over a bay to see shot counts
- Zoom in using the scrollbar (useful for large ranges)
- Tabs shown depend on your setup:
- Fixed bays – includes all shots hit from fixed bays, whether through a monitor, mobile device, or outside of an active game mode (for example, when players hit balls without starting a session).
- Grass tee – shows shots hit from grass tees; cannot distinguish between multiple tee locations
Detailed view
Visualizes data over the selected time period:
- Default – each data point = a day
- If 1 day selected – each data point = an hour
Available metrics:
- Total shots – all shots traced on the range.
- Number of sessions – counts every session started.
- Pace – average shots per hour calculated from a 24-hour period.
- Players per session – average number of players in each session. The highest player count is stored per session (includes logged-in and guest players).
- Average session length – counts every session regardless of length, rounded to the nearest integer.
- Usage rate – calculated as the total shots traced in a game mode divided by the total shots traced on the range.
Hovering over a data point shows the exact numbers for that date or hour.
Widget information
Each widget includes an information icon. Clicking it explains:
- What data is shown
- How it is calculated
Downloading data
You can download both graphs and data for most widgets:
- Image formats: JPG, PNG, PDF (snapshot of the graph)
- Data formats: CSV, XLSX (export of raw data for the selected time period)
Exception: Quick Indicators cannot be downloaded directly. Their data can instead be exported from Detailed view.
If a widget has multiple tabs, data for all tabs will be included in the export.
