April 2026 - Clearer behavior for bay access and Toptracer availability

We have become aware that the behavior of bay access and the Toptracer included in price setting has not been fully working as expected. This has now been fixed.

Because of this, some ranges may have gotten used to a setup that does not fully reflect their intended configuration. We recommend that you review your current settings to make sure they match the experience you want to offer your players.

Use the guide below to understand how the settings are structured and decide which setup best fits your range.

If you make any changes, remember to click Save settings at the bottom of the page.

Unlocked bay
Locked bay

Step 1: Choose your Bays type

Your range operates in one of two main modes:

Unlocked bays

  • Bays are open and ready for use at all times
  • Players can walk up and start playing without staff involvement
  • Screens are available by default

Locked bays

  • Bays must be assigned by staff
  • Players are checked in before accessing a bay
  • Screen access depends on how the bay is assigned

Step 2: Use blocked bays for flexibility (optional)

If you are using unlocked bays mode, you can still apply more control to specific bays by enabling blocked bays.

To use blocked bays:

  • Select Unlocked bays
  • Turn on the Blocked bays toggle
  • Select the bays you want to block

Blocked bays will then:

  • Require staff assignment
  • Behave like locked bays

If no bays are selected, the setting will not have any effect.

Step 3: Decide if Toptracer is included in the price

For locked bays and blocked bays, you can control whether Toptracer is automatically available.

Setting: Toptracer included in price

When set to Yes

  • Toptracer is included for all assigned bays
  • The screen unlocks automatically when the assignment starts

When set to No

  • Toptracer is treated as an add-on
  • When assigning a bay, staff will see a toggle: Toptracer range?
  • This toggle is off by default
    • If left off:
      • The bay is assigned
      • The screen remains locked
    • If turned on:
      • The bay is assigned
      • The screen unlocks when the player arrives at the bay

This setup is useful if you charge separately for Toptracer access.

When set to No, Toptracer is treated as an add-on. A toogle will be available when assigning bays.
When "Toptracer Range?" set to Off; the bay screen will stay locked, but player will be assigned to the bay.

When "Toptracer Range?" set to On; the screen will be unlocked when the player arrive at the bay.

Note: The Toptracer range? toggle is only shown for bays with an active screen connection.

  • If the Toptracer shield is visible on the bay card, the toggle will be available
  • If a yellow “no connection” icon is shown, the toggle will not appear since there is no screen to unlock

This is useful to keep in mind when troubleshooting why the toggle may not be visible.

What to do now

To make sure your setup works as intended:

  • Review your current range mode
  • Check if you are using blocked bays and that the correct bays are selected
  • Confirm your Toptracer included in price setting
  • Click Save settings after making any updates

These changes ensure that your range behaves consistently and matches your intended player experience and pricing model.
